vs Strathearn (2010-06-21)

With the U15’s travelling up to Perth to take on Strathern, I handed the captaincy to Holly, which felt like a massive gamble at the time but she did an “epic” job of captaining.

She won the toss and, obviously, chose to bat. Scott and Jamie opened with Jamie retiring after only 9 overs. The runs continued to come quickly, 19 from me and an amazing 31 from Marcus who was smashing the bowlers everywhere (well, mostly mid wicket). This resulted in a huge total of 142/9, a tremendous batting performance from the team.

Ben opened the bowling and took two quick wickets, ending on figures of 3-6. Some tight bowling and sharp fielding kept the opposition to a low score. Others that took wickets were both Lucas brothers, Marcus, Bilal and me.

Overall, an excellent team performance and a great night in Perth.
