vs Freuchie (2010-06-16)

On a sunny evening a very young and inexperienced side travelled to Freuchie. Freuchie opened the batting and very quickly piled on the runs. Depite some good bowling in spells we were unable to take any wickets. Freuchie finished their innings with 170 on the board.

In reply Andrew and James opened the bowling, with Andrew falling in the first over to an inswinging delivery that would have bowled many a batsman, Imran then came to the crease and along with James started playing some very good shots. James was eventually bowled for 7. Thereafter, wickets fell regularly with only Imran putting up any resistance, eventually retiring on 27 in the 19th over.

We finished with 61 runs on the board.

I must emphasise that this was a much more experienced Freuchie side and I felt that despite the scoreline the players did not become too dispirited, One of the most pleasing factors, for me, was their willingness to learn and their enthusiasm throughout the game. Imran continues to impress me every time he bats and is certainly one for the future.
