Match Report

vs Broomhall (2010-06-23)

Near neighbours Broomhall were the visitors on a bright, sunny night at McKane Park. The visitors were given 1st use of the strip and started of in a watchful manner. They had reached 19 without loss, before losing 3 wickets without adding to the total.Firstly Daniel had Ieuan caught behind by Jamie, then,Ben bowled Jack with a lovely yorker and Thomas clean bowled Danny. From this point a lot of runs seemed to be given away by Dunfermline. The scoreboard was moving along before Marcus picked up the wicket off Gudgy, helped by a good catch by Scott.William got in on the act with a couple of wickets aided by catches from Ben and Scott. At the end of the 20 overs,Broomhall had reached 97 for  6.Too many extras from the home team, but an achieveable total on a good wicket if we applied ourselves properly.

After more great home baking from Mrs W,the run chase commenced with Jamie and Scott.Scott was out early to Iuean for 4,Ben joined Jamie at the crease, and these 2 played very senseable cricket and the runs flowed.Jamie reached the retiral score of 30 off some 36 balls punishing some bad balls while rotating the strike well with his partner.David joined Ben and wasted little time getting into his stride hitting a rapid 16 not out.The winning run came off a wide which left Ben 1 short off the retiral 30.

Overall,we can't really complain at a 9 wicket victory, but here goes.Bowling was a bit wayward at times and fielding sloppy.  No complaints at the batting, very good.
